    The API is under testing and may change before release.

    Coding agents

    You'll install the helixio skill in Claude Code or Codex, so your coding agent writes helixio code from the real API and examples instead of guessing. A skill is a folder an agent loads when a task matches its description; this one carries recipes, the API reference, the template catalog and the known gaps.

    Before you start

    You need helixio installed (see Install helixio and check it runs) and one of these agents:

    • Claude Code 2.1.275 or later, which has plugins and skills.
    • Codex, in a version with skills. These steps follow Codex's skills documentation; if your version differs, check it for where skills live.

    You also need this documentation repository, as a clone or as a URL your machine can reach. The skill's folder is lines/0.0/skill/skills/helixio/ in it, and every recipe in the skill is an example from these pages.

    Steps

    1. Install the skill in Claude Code

    Install it as a plugin from the repository's marketplace. In a shell, register the marketplace, then install the plugin. Use the repository's URL, or a local path to a clone:

    claude plugin marketplace add <repository URL or path to your clone>
    claude plugin install helixio@helixio-docs

    Claude Code prints that the plugin was installed. Inside a session, the same works in one step:

    /plugin install helixio --marketplace <repository URL or path to your clone>

    To skip the plugin system, copy the skill folder instead. Copy it to your personal skills to use it in every project, or to a project's .claude/skills/ to share it with everyone who works there:

    cp -r lines/0.0/skill/skills/helixio ~/.claude/skills/
    # or, inside a project
    cp -r lines/0.0/skill/skills/helixio .claude/skills/
    2. Install the skill in Codex

    Codex reads skills from ~/.agents/skills/ for you, and from .agents/skills/ in a repository for everyone who works there. Copy or link the same folder, replacing <clone> with the path to your clone of this repository:

    mkdir -p ~/.agents/skills
    ln -s "<clone>/lines/0.0/skill/skills/helixio" ~/.agents/skills/helixio
    # or, inside a project
    mkdir -p .agents/skills && cp -r "<clone>/lines/0.0/skill/skills/helixio" .agents/skills/

    A link keeps the skill current when you pull this repository. Codex's own $skill-installer can also fetch a skill from a repository path. If the skill does not appear, restart Codex.

    3. Use it

    Ask for what you want in plain words. The agent loads the skill when the task matches:

    Price a 2Y2Y SOFR swap at 4.8% on 100 million from these SOFR swap quotes,
    and report its NPV and par ladder.

    The skill directs the agent to:

    1. check the installed version;
    2. mark a market from quotes;
    3. draft the swap from a template;
    4. let a book report the measures by name.

    To call it explicitly, use:

    • /helixio:helixio in Claude Code when it is installed as a plugin;
    • /helixio when you copied it;
    • $helixio in Codex.

    The skill describes one release. Its first step runs scripts/check_version.py, which compares the installed helixio with the version the skill describes, and says so when the series differ.

    Check it worked

    The skill is listed:

    • Claude Code: claude plugin list shows helixio@helixio-docs as enabled, or /helixio appears in the / menu for a copied skill.
    • Codex: /skills lists helixio.

    The version script agrees with your build. Run it from the skill folder:

    python scripts/check_version.py

    It prints the installed version beside the skill's and exits 0. A non-zero exit means your build and the skill describe different series. Install the build this line pins, or use the skill from the line that matches your build.

    • Your first trade walks through the chain the skill teaches, step by step.
    • Interest rate swap is the kind of reference page the skill's recipes come from.
    • The skill's references/known-gaps.md is this repository's gaps log, so your agent reads what helixio doesn't do before it tries.
