Enum JacobianEngine
pub enum JacobianEngine {
Lanes,
Reverse {
sweeps: usize,
},
}Expand description
Which engine built a ladder’s ∂q/∂z.
Chosen per calibration by the router: the ladder’s size against
REVERSE_FROM, then whether a recording is already open on the thread.
Reported on the provenance so the route a ladder took can be read and
asserted, and because the sweep count is the number a reader weighing the
reverse engine’s memory wants.
Variants§
Lanes
⌈n/8⌉ tape-free forward passes, eight pillars seeded per pass.
Reverse
One reverse recording of every rung, read back in sweeps vector
sweeps over that recording — one when the adjoint buffer fits
ADJOINT_BUDGET_BYTES, more when it is read back in blocks.
